Thanks for your time! A happy customer, F.M. I would also like to ask you if there are any books that you would recommend for me, a high school junior planning on studying music in College. I will make sure to recommend it to fellow students, and, in my adult life, to students of my own. The only reason this frustrated me is because I've been playing Bass Trombone with my high school band for a while now and am out of practice reading and transcribing up an octave. The only complaint i have about the book is that many of the exercises are written down an octave with an 8va, which is very minor and probably there to save paper. The opening pages are a great introduction to jazz theory. Thank you for a great book! I recently bought one of your books, Jazz Solo Series for Trombone, and after only two weeks i was beginning to see improvement in my improvisational skills. You will find transcriptions of solos by Cannonball Adderley, Kenny Garrett, Vincent Herring, Sonny Stitt, Antonio Hart, Michael Brecker, Ralph Bowen, Eric Alexander, Donald Harrison, Javon Jackson, Jackie McLean, Eddie Harris, Joe Henderson, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, and Hank Mobley, amongst many. Please refer to the end of the book for a selected discography of Mark's favorite Jazz albums featuring great soloists. Below are free solo transcriptions I have completed to aid in my development as a musician.
